the pastels are in : powder blue & baby pink

Pastels are a wonderful thing, especially when worn with a glowing tan, so as they slowly creep into the shops I've started to think about the ways in which I want to wear certain shades this spring and leading on into summer. Starting with the originals baby blue and baby pink because they're my go-to shades.

As it's still a bit chilly I'm especially drawn to knitwear in pastel shades, like this jumper and cardigan from the women's designer knitwear section on Paulie Clothing. Wearing pink and blue with grey and white is my favourite way to style up these shades so I've pulled together some inspirational outfits from Pinterest. Layering is one of my favourite things to do so teaming a long pink cardi with an equally long blue wool coat over a white tee is perfect for the chill in the air, looks cute for spring and is easy enough to remove layers if things warm up through the day.

Handbags are an easy transitional way of injecting some pastel shades into an outfit. The likes of Ted Baker and Pauls Boutique have some beautiful pink bags that look great and will last through the spring, summer and onto next year because they're so easy to style.

Matching up your head to toe accessories is another way I really want to wear the pastel trend. A cute pair of baby blue framed sunnies complement some powder blue pointed heels perfectly be drawing the eye literally from head to toe.
