new in: from Moony Mood
Throughout the winter months the majority of us are drawn to darker shades of the colours we love but there’s nothing wrong with injecting bright colours into an otherwise dark coloured outfit. My favourite way to do this is with statement pieces from my wardrobe like this red leather jacket by Mango. The vibrant red is both suitable for this time of year and gives me great confidence when I wear it.
While I have a collection of statement clothes that finish an outfit I believe it’s the base of the outfit that makes it what it is. My black and darker pieces are staples that work with so many different jackets, a range of accessories and a huge amount of shoes but they don’t often get enough of the credit they deserve.
This dress by Moony Mood is new to my wardrobe and I already know it’s going to be one of those staple pieces that I’ll get a lot of wear from especially because I love the self-tie waist as this makes it more than just a base layer. It’s a dark grey jersey with fleck/slub detail and because of it’s short sleeves I can comfortably wear any kind of jacket over it without getting too toasty. Whether the outerwear is a thick fur coat, biker jacket or even a jumper this tshirt dress offers so many outfit variations for such a simple item.
These boots are also new to me because I had to replace my beloved Ravel over knee boots since wearing them to death. I opted for a simple black faux suede knee high boot that I know I’ll be able to wear with almost anything (like I did with my Ravel boots) and while they’re not ideal for the rainy UK weather they are comfortable and easy to style which makes them the perfect shoe for me to throw on at the door no matter my outfit.
